WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CLINICALMEDICINE

In 1977 the College started training Clinical Officers of which the government did not affirm because they said the only school mandated to do this was Malawi College of Health Sciences. Finally in 1997, College was accepted to start training Clinical Officers officially. In 1999, the department started an upgrading course Medical Assistants to Clinical Officers.

The plans are on of starting a Diploma course in Palliative care which will lead to Bachelors in Palliative care and also Bachelors in Surgery. The department has the largest number of students. Diploma in Clinical Medicine-Mature Entry 48,Diploma in Clinical Medicine (levels 2 and 3) 105, Certificate in Clinical Medicine (levels 1 and 2) 160. This excludes first years who register under the Basic Science Department.

  • Entry requirements
Bachelor of science degree (MLS and PH);Malawi certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with Six credits including Biology,English, Mathematics and Physical Science.
For Diploma Programmes; MSCE or its Equivalent with 6 credits including Biology, English, Mathematics and Physical Science
For Certificate in Clinical Medicine; MSCE or its Equivalent with two credits from Biology, Mathematics or Physical Science
  • How can one be enrolled at Malamulo College of Health sciences ?

Normal intake is advertised in June, shortlisted applicants are interviewed in July and successful applicants begin school in August or September of each year. Other intakes are done in special arrangements

  • How much is the School Fees ? 
Tuition fees; MK 497,000 per semester or MK 994,000 per year for Bachelor of science Programmes and excluding other fees
Tuition fees; MK390,000 per semester and MK 780,000 per year for Certificate and Diploma programmes excluding other fees. All fees are subject to change and the deposit slip can be scanned and send to studentsfinance@adventist.org
What is the mode of payment ?
50% of the semester fees is mandatory for registration.
The Balance should be cleared within the semester
Students with outstanding balances are not allowed to write end of semester examinations
  • Registration of Students

Registration takes place at the beginning of every semester. All students are required to register with the Registrar Office

a) All applicants must satisfy the entry requirements of the relevant courses and the University regulations. Application forms may be obtained from Malawi Adventist University Malamulo campus or at the Malawi Union  or you can

For admission one should submit the following:
Application form to be completed by the applicant
Recommendation for application form to be completed by High School Principal or Head Teacher and Submitted in a sealed envelop
Recommendation for application form to be completed by A Church leader at the church where membership is held and submitted in a sealed envelope.
Sponsorship commitment letter
Two passport size photographs
Deposit slip of non-refundable Application fees amounting to K6000.00 but subject to change
