After our FI(A) course, you will be able to do just that! Not only will you be a mentor and teacher, but also a skilled pilot.
The FI(A) course is the fundament of numerous extra instructor ratings that can be acquired. With an FI(A) rating in hand, you can later progress to become a multi engine instructor, instrument rating instructor, and more! The FI(A) rating will also be an excellent platform for building hours, giving you the experience needed for that next big job opportunity.

6-day theory course ending with a written school test. The course comprises of 125 hours theoretical knowledge (including long briefings).
During long briefings, you are to make and present your own presentations, one from each PPL-subject. Long briefings are conducted during the flight training part.
Flight training includes 30 hours flight time from the right seat in a G1000 equipped DA40NG.
The flight instructor course ends with an Assessment of Competence.

Pre-entry requirements
1. CPL or completed at least 200 hours flight time of which 150 hours as pilot-in-command if holding a PPL(A)
2. Fulfil the knowledge requirements for the CPL(A), except for an FI(A) providing training for the LAPL(A) only
3. Valid license, ratings and priviliges from third country
4. Have a good understanding of the English language both spoken and written
5. Have completed at least 30 hours on single-engine piston aircraft of which at least 5 hours shall have been completed during the six months preceding the pre-entry flight test as set out in point 9 below
6. Have received at least 10 hours instrument flight instruction of which not more than five hours may be instrument ground time in a FNPT 2 or a flight simulator
7. Have completed at least 20 hours cross country as pilot-in-command, including a flight totalling not less than 540 km (300NM), of which full stop landings at two aerodromes must be made
8. Before being permitted to begin an approved course of training for a FI(A) rating a student shall have passed a specific pre-entry flight test with an FI qualified as in FCL.905.FI(i) based upon the proficiency check as set out in appendix 9 to part-FCL within the six months preceding the start of the course. The flight test will assess the ability of the applicant to undertake the course. The mentioned pre-entry flight test will be completed before the flying program commences
9. Have completed the safety and standardisation training described in operation manual before commencing flight training, which will be provided by Pilot Flight Academy during the FI(A) course
Accomodation
Pilot Flight Academy assists all coming students in finding housing.
We have different dorm room solutions at the actual airport/school premises, and will forward all enrolled students to further booking of these or other housing alternatives.
Prices will vary with size, private bathroom solution etc, but starts from app. NOK 5000 per month, electricity and wifi included.
All rooms come with a bed, wardrobe closet and desk, some dorm rooms have a private bathroom. All dorm room facilities are newly decorated and fresh looking.

Costs
Price NOK 110.000,- including both theory course and flight training.
A sign-on fee of NOK 5.000 is required, but will however be subtracted from the course cost and will therefore not lead to any additional expense.
Additional costs for pre-entry flight test, Assessment of Competence and fees to CAA Norway not included.
Starting dates
Next theory course will be in week 38. Flying can be commenced after individual agreement, depending on capacity.
