University of Malawi, Chancellor College‘s Mathematical Sciences Department develops curriculum for BSc in Actuarial Sciences programme.
Curriculum Details
In a bid to remain relevant and to respond to the needs of the industry and society, University of Malawi, Chancellor College – Faculty of Science, through the Department of Mathematical Sciences was developing a curriculum for BSc in Actuarial Science. This follows recent fruitful interactions between the UNIMA’s Senior Leadership Team and captains of the industry.
On 23rd – 24th January 2015, the working team comprising members from the Departments of Mathematical Sciences, Economics and Language and Communication studies met at College of Medicine Guest House in Blantyre where they worked on draft curriculum, programme specification and proposal.
The next immediate stages include stakeholders’ workshop, presentation of the programme proposal to Faculty Board, College Management, APC/ACC, and University Senate. It was envisaged that the programme would be rolled out from 2016.
