University of Malawi- Department of Chemistry
BACKGROUND
The Department of Chemistry is one of the departments in the Faculty of Science at Chancellor College. It is engaged in a number of academic activities including undergraduate and graduate tuition, research and providing professional services to industry and government departments.
RESEARCH
Research in the department is focused on the following major areas: water and wastewater quality; utilization of natural resources in traditional medicine; studies on the nutritional status of local fruits, tubers, vegetables and other plants; and soil chemistry.
GRADUATE STUDIES
The Department offers a Master of Science in Chemistry programme and a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry programme.
