Phalombe man impregnates two step-daughters, arrested

Malawi  Police in Phalombe have arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly impregnating his two step-daughters in a roll. The victims subsequently gave birth to twin boys and a girl.
The suspect, Robert Misokwe hails from Sakwedwa village T/A Kaduya in the district.
Phalombe police Public Relations Officer, Augustus Nkhwazi disclosed that Misokwe impregnated the two girls last year.
“The suspect married Lucy Misokwe in the year 2000. The woman had already four children from her previous marriage. And in 2013, his wife developed a health problem such that she was discharging abnormal vaginal fluids. This forced her to stop having conjugal rights with her husband,” explained Nkhwazi.
Misokwe is reported to have approached a witch doctor to help cure his wife’s problem. It is alleged that the witch doctor advised the suspect to start having sex with the two victims so that his wife could be cured.
Both victims; Ruth 19 years old and Nissie 20 years old became pregnant and subsequently gave birth on 5th and 6th February, 2016.
The issue was reported to the authorities following claims by the two victims that Misokwe was ill treating them.
“The issue was reported to members of community policing in the area who took up the matter with Migowi Police Unit and the suspect was arrested on Tuesday (16th August, 2016). He admits to have been sleeping with the victims,” added Nkhwazi.

Robert Misokwe is expected to appear before court soon on charges of Sexual Intercourse with minors under one’s care and protection contrary to Section 159 (A) of the Penal Code.
