The Catholic University of Malawi invites suitably qualified persons to apply for its various programmes. Successful applicants will be admitted for programmes which commence in January (Weekend/Parttime) and February (Generic/Fulltime) in 2019. In order to be considered,candidates must apply by completing and submitting there levant application form before the deadline given. 1.GENERIC/ FULL TIME PROGRAMMES ROUTE 1:ADMISSION THROUGH ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS Eligible applicants will sit for University Entrance Examinations on​ 3​​rd January 2019​​,with registration for Entrance Examination on​ 2​​nd January 2019​​.Names of those selected will be released before the ​end of January 2019​​.Selected candidates will commence their studies on 11​​th​​ February 2019​​. Eligibility – Who should apply Malawi Schools Certificate or its Equivalent. Those​with MSCE or its equivalent plus credit sin six subjects including English​​ and an aggregate score of not more than thirty (​30​​) points. Those with IGCSE and GCEO-Levels should use the following interpretation :IGCSE results are reported on an 8-point scale of grades,the following is the Catholic University of Malawi interpretation of IGCSE results for admission purposes​:A*=1;A=2;B=3;C=5;D=7;E=8;F&G;=9.​​GCEO-level results are reported on a 5-point scale of grades and the Catholic University of Malawi interpretation of the grades is as follows :​A=1;B=3:C=5; D = 7; E = 8.1 Upon successful completion of the Bridging Programme candidates will be eligible to enroll in one of the University degree programmes and will not be required to write the University Entrance Examinations. Admission into a university degree programme is subject to additional specific programme requirements demanded by the various faculties as specified under​Entry Route1​​.This means that upon successful completion of the Bridging Programme, candidates will be guided by Deans of Faculties on the programme in which they fit to study. Original copy of the bank deposit slip for the non-refundable application fee iv.Letter of commitment for financial support v.Passport size photograph ROUTE 3:ADMISSION NOT REQUIRING ENTRANCE EXAMS OR BRIDG IN GPROGRAMME A.“A” Level Qualification Candidateswith A-Level qualification must have a minimum of three principal passes with anaggregate of at least 9 points. For purposes of selection,A-Level is interpreted as follows:​A=5,B=4, C= 3​​. Such candidates ​will not be required to write​​ the university entrance examinations .B.Other Advanced Certificates (Mature Entry) The University also considers those with advanced certificates and diplomas from recognized and accredited institutions in the relevant areas of study. Candidates who apply using advanced certificates and diplomas are vetted by respective Faculties on a case-by-case basis to determine 5 their eligibility and level of entry.Such candidates ​will not be required to write the University Entrance Examinations. 2. WEEKEND/PART TIME PROGRAMMES The University offers an opportunity for those who would like to attain higher academic and professional qualifications but are restricted by the demands of work during the working week. The mode of delivery will be lectures offered during weekends and holidays. Each Semester starts with two weeks offull-time intensive learning which will be offered at the university campus,Nguludi-Chiradzulu and a Satellite Campus in Lilongwe.COMMENCEMENT OF STUDIES AND VENUES Successful applicants will be admitted for programmes which commence in​December 2018 ​​for those who will study at Lilongwe Satellite Centreand​ January 2019​​for those who will study at the Main campus in Nguludi–Chiradzulu and Ex-Mont fort Press premises next to the Limbe Cathedral.
