Application for undergraduate admission in August 2019

University of Botswana wishes to inform all prospective students that the application process for admission into undergraduate study programmes for August 2019 is open until 31st March 2019.

In processing applications for the August 2019 intake, the University will require that the following be observed:

On-line Application

University of Botswana has an on-line application system whereby prospective applicants can apply on-line wherever they are. All prospective applicants are therefore expected to make their applications online through the “APPLY TO STUDY” link on the University of Botswana website: www.ub.bw. Prospective applicants may use any Internet facility available to them to apply. A guide in the form of a booklet, entitled “ONLINE APPLICATION: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE”, on how to complete an application online is provided through the “APPLY TO STUDY” link.

The University of Botswana offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate study programmes. Our particularly broad portfolio of Full-Time degree programmes covers Business, Engineering, Education, Humanities, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences and Medicine.

Apply to Study

All applications for admission into undergraduate programmes are done through the Undergraduate Admissions, Recruitment and Liason Office. 

Mode of Study

The University of Botswana offers a wide range of undergraduate study programmes, which are offered on Full-Time, Part-Time, or Distance modes. 

When to Apply

Applicants seeking admission into undergraduate programmes at UB for the new academic year which begins in August, may apply from Mid-February to the last working day of March every year.Those  seeking re-admission into UB or those seeking transfer from their institution to UB may apply in March or November each year in order to enter in August or January respectively.

Postgraduate Applications

Apply to Study

All applications for admission into postgraduate programmes are done through the School of Graduate Studies Admissions Office.

Mode of Study

The University of Botswana offers a wide range of postgraduate study programmes, which are offered on  Full-Time, Part-Time, or Modular modes

When to Apply

Applicants seeking admission into postgraduate programmes at UB for the new academic year which begins in August may apply from Mid-February to the last working day of March every year. Application Materials

All Application materials are available as Application Package and can be accessed through the “APPLY TO STUDY” link on the University of Botswana website.

Applicants with Disability

University of Botswana welcomes applicants with disability, and considers their applications on academic merit like all other applicants. All applicants are expected to state whether they have any disability or not when they apply, so that the University’s Disability Support Services Unit can contact them to understand the nature of their disability. Prospective applicants with any disability may contact the University’s Disability Support Services Unit at the following telephone numbers: (+267)-355-2768/4183/4490/4991. The declaration of such information helps the University in assessing the learning needs of all applicants. University of Botswana will, at all times, preserve the confidentiality of prospective student information.

Submission of Applications

Applicants are expected to submit their applications mainly online. Such applications will be received by Undergraduate Admissions Office at Main Campus in Gaborone, Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) in Francistown, Okavango Research Institute (ORI) in Maun. Applicants are advised to go to these Centres for their application advisement. Service will be open from 8:00am to 4:30pm during week days at UB Francistown (CCE), Okavango Research Institute (ORI) in Maun and UB Main Campus in Gaborone until the closing date. Applicants are encouraged to pay their Application Fee at the Banks and should write their full names and IDs as reference on the deposit slip. Applicants may use any Internet facility available to them to submit their applications online.

Changes

Applicants may make changes to their study choices during the application period through a letter to Undergraduate Admissions Office.

Admission Processing

Applicants who meet the set programme entry requirements will be admitted based on academic merit depending on the availability of space. Meeting the minimum entry requirements therefore does not guarantee admission.

Closing Date

The Application processes for August 2019 entry for both local and international applicants closes on 31st March 2019.
