Catholic University of Malawi Admission for Academic Year

Eligible applicants will sit for University Entrance Examinations on 3rd January 2020, with registration for Entrance Examination on 2nd January 2020. Names of those selected will be released before the end of January 2020. Selected candidates will commence their studies on 12th February 2020.

Eligibility – Who Should Apply

Malawi Schools Certificate or its Equivalent
Those with MSCE or its equivalent plus credits in six subjects including English and an aggregate score of no more than thirty (30) points.

Those with IGCSE and GCE O-Levels should use the following interpretation:
IGCSE results are reported on an 8-point scale of grades, the following is the Catholic University of Malawi interpretation of IGCSE results for admission purposes:

A* = 1; A = 2; B = 3; C = 5; D = 7; E = 8; F & G; = 9.

GCE O-level results are reported on a 5-point scale of grades and the Catholic University of Malawi interpretation of the grades is as follows:

A=1; B = 3: C = 5; D = 7; E = 8.

Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent should be obtained in no more than two sittings in the recent past two years. Please NOTE that Candidates who have credits in less than six subjects and have an aggregate MSCE score of more than 30 points are not eligible to apply.

However, those who have obtained credit passes in four subjects including English can apply for the Bridging programme whose details are contained under Route 2. Candidates, who were withdrawn from the Catholic University of Malawi or any other accredited institution of higher learning on academic grounds, are not eligible for selection
