MALAWI AGRO-ECOLOGICAL INTENSIFACATION SYMPOSIUM (2nd – 3 rd September 2020)

The Malawi Agro-Ecological Intensification (AEI) Hub currently coordinated by LUANAR is aimed at bringing together researchers in legumes, soils, and farmer participation, with extensionists and formal and informal farmer organizations to function as a network that supports research to respond to the changing environment and farm variability. The AEI hub is calling for submission of abstracts of your recent research findings for oral or poster presentation at a conference in September 2020.

Conference objectives:
a) Allow practicing AEI stakeholders to share/contribute practices, innovation and approaches with other stakeholders and similarly appreciate the same
b) Appraise current policy environment on AEI and identify opportunities and areas for strengthening.
c) Provide platform for stakeholders to conceptualise research and development projects based on innovations, results and analysis from presentations

Conference theme:
The role of agro-ecology sensitive agriculture in building resilient and sustainable food systems

All submissions must be within the following areas:
• Agro-ecological research on various agricultural sciences such as agronomy, soil science, integrated pest management, horticulture, permaculture, organic farming, animal sciences and agricultural engineering
• Human nutrition and food sciences
• Extension and socioeconomic aspects of agro-ecology
• Policy aspects in agro-ecology Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Water Development Malawi Agro-Ecological Hub Hosted by LUANAR Supported by McKnight Foundation

• Researchers
• Representatives from government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), farmer organisations, CGIAR
• Policy makers
• Students

Abstract format:
• The abstract must have a maximum of 300 words in a single paragraph
• Text should be of font size 12 in Times New Roman, spaced at 1.5 and justified
• Affiliation of the authors must be indicated by number superscripts
• The corresponding author must include an email that will be indicated by an asterisk
• The abstract must contain the aim, methods, results and conclusion/recommendation

Authors of successful abstracts will be requested to submit full paper (s) which will be peer reviewed for possible publication in conference proceedings and/or a peer reviewed special issue or book with reputable publishers.
