University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies Admission for Academic Year

Applications are invited from prospective applicants for admissions into the following REGULAR and WEEKEND undergraduate programmes:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Sustainable Agriculture
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science and Management

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Sustainable Agriculture
Candidates must have CREDITS in THREE (3) SSSCE/WASSCE Core subjects: English Language, mathematics and integrated Science in addition to CREDITS in any THREE (3) relevant elective subjects in the following options:

  1. General Science: Biology, Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Elective Mathematics and Geography
  2. Agriculture ScienceGeneral Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics, Elective Mathematics, Animal Husbandry, Crop Husbandry, Horticulture Economics and Extension.
  • General Art: Economics Geography, Government, Elective Mathematics.
  1. Home Economics: Biology and/or Chemistry, Management in Living, Food and Nutrition and Economics.


Environmental Science and Management
Candidates must have CREDITS in THREE (3) SSSCE/WASSCE Core subjects: English Language, mathematics and integrated Science in addition to CREDITS in any THREE (3) relevant elective subjects in the following options:

  1. General Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Elective Mathematics.
  2. Agricultural Science: General Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics, Elective Mathematics, Animal Husbandry, Crop Husbandry, Horticulture, Economics, and Extension.
  • General Arts: Economics, Geography, Government, Elective Mathematics, General Knowledge in Art, History, Christian Religious Studies.
  1. Home Economics: Biology or Chemistry, General Knowledge in Art, Management in Living, Food and Nutrition, Economics.
  2. Business: Business Management, Business Mathematics and Costing, Accounting, Economics, Elective Mathematics.

MATURE APPLICANTS
Mature candidates must have attained the age of 25 years and show proof of age with valid birth certificated at the time of submitting the application. In addition, they must also possess at least two-year relevant working experience. Candidates will be required to undertake a six-week mature Entrance Access course followed by examinations in the following subjects:

  • General Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Aptitude Test
  • General Science

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
Applicants from English speaking and non-English speaking countries may apply. The admission requirements of such candidate should be determined by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana and submitted together with the completed application forms.
TRANSFER STUDENTS
Applicants who have followed a minimum of TWO (2) years of FOUR (4) semesters programmes as regular students pursuing the same degree in a recognized university/Institution, with satisfactory progress, should provide an official academic transcript from the previous university/Institution for consideration by the Admissions Board
DIPLOMA AND HND HOLDERS
Holders of Diploma certificated in relevant areas shall be admitted into level 100 of the chosen program, provided such candidates have no deficiencies in their secondary school grades. Holders of HND without deficiencies in their secondary school grades will be required to undertake a semester-long bridging programme of not less than seven (7) courses prior to admission. Candidates must obtain an overall average of 50% to qualify for admission. Successful candidates shall be admitted either into level 200 or 300, depending on the class of HND. Preferably candidates with Second Class Upper or distinction shall be placed in level 300 whilst holders of Second Class Lower will be admitted into level 200 of the chosen programme.

  1. Purchase the application forms directly from the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies (UCAES) in Bunso in the Eastern Region of Ghana OR
  2. Visit the University College’s website at ucaes.edu.gh and download the application forms. Attach an application fee of One Hundred Ghana cedis (Gh¢ 100.00) by either cash or bankers Draft purchase from any Commercial bank and submit the completed application forms and the Bankers draft to the UCAES Account Office OR
  3. Visit any EMS facility countrywide and obtain a Priority EMS envelope to enclose the completed application forms and other required documents addressed to:
