Final Examination Timetable – Supplementary Re-Sit Examinations For 1st Semester Courses, 2019/2020

The Supplementary Re-sit Examinations will take place from Saturday, 1st August 2020 to Sunday, 30th August 2020 online and on-site, in selected Computer Laboratories on the University Legon Campus.

Courses will be assigned specific sessions within the dates specified. The 2-hour on-site sessions are as follows:

  • First Session:              7:30am – 9:30am
  • Second Session:        10:30am – 12:30pm
  • Third Session:             1:30pm – 3:30pm
  • Fourth Session:           4:30pm – 6:30pm

Please note that as Regular Students undertake the examinations onsite using the SAKAI LMS, International Students should be enabled to undertake the examinations remotely, at the same time.

With regard to the examinations, Examiners should kindly endeavour to:
  1. Set up the examination for the course on Sakai using the Tests and Quizzes tool. These may be multi-choice, short answers, essay-type questions, etc. Review the attached brief on setting up examinations on Sakai. For examinations that would require handwritten Reponses, please notify the Chief Invigilator(s) on location to supply students with answer booklets to be used.
  2. Note that the duration of each paper SHOULD NOT exceed two hours.
  3. Make sure a password is set on all assessments –
    a.  The password should be made available to the Chief Invigilator at the venue of the examination for use by the onsite students.
    b.  The password should be sent to individual International students via the Sakai email tool. The list of International Students taking your course should be obtained from your Examination Officer or Head of Department in this regard.
  4. Notify students prior to exam about the examination’s specific modalities as well as the fact that the password will be shared right before start of the examination.
  5. Courses with student numbers of 200 or more may span more than one session and will therefore require different sets of questions for each session assigned. Students should be assigned by Examiners to session-based groups on the course site in SAKAI, using the specified index number ranges available in the daily examination timetables.
  6. Check on the daily timetable for the specific venue and start time of each course’s examination. This will be issued on the University Website at the Academic Affairs Directorate Examination Timetable Portal: https://sts.ug.edu.gh/timetable/. It will also be issued to the ugstaff email.
  7. Be present at the examination centres before the start of each exam.
  8. Send an email to sakai@ug.edu.gh for technical assistance if required or consult the guides for setting up Test & Quizzes by clicking on this link.
