The Deputy Minister of Education in charge of General Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has disclaimed a media publication that sought to misinterpret what he said on promotion for students in the next academic year.
In press statement issued by the Minister, his outfit has been drawn to a publication on peacefmonline.com misconstruing what he originally said on the issue of promotion of pupils in the next academic year.
According to Dr. Adutwum, he did not state that there shall be automatic promotion when school finally resumes.
“I was speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Hello FM, explaining how the Ministry of Education may adopt suitable International Best Practices used to reclaim lost contact hours that happen as a result of emergencies like hurricanes and pandemics when school finally resumes.” He explained.
Dr. Adutwum noted that, he sees the said publication as skewed and misleading, and therefore urge the public to disregard it.
