ARUA Center of Excellence for Non-Communicable Diseases – PhD Support Programme 2020

The Office of Research, Innovations and Development (ORID) invites 2 Year PhD students working on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and related topics, from any discipline, to apply to the ARUA Center of Excellence for Non-Communicable Diseases (ACE NCDs).

PhD Support Programme 2020. Applicants should: be currently enrolled in PhD studies; have completed all requirements for their first year; have had their research proposals approved, and be at the beginning or early stages of the research phase of their studies.

ACE-NCDs has received a grant from the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) through the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to support and strengthen research capacity across the ACE-NCDs universities (University of Ghana, University of Ibadan, Makerere University, University of Nairobi and University of the Witwatersrand) and their partners in Africa.

Part of the grant is available to support PhD students research. Funding is available up to £10,000 per project and will support fieldwork, data analysis and equipment.
