Diploma in Irrigation Technology: Producing Irrigation Technology graduates with relevant skills in irrigation technologies for improved food security

Uniqueness of the Program This programme is offered by the Department of Natural Resources at LUANAR’s Natural Resources College.

The programme strategically enhances acquisition of knowledge and skills on development/modification of several innovative irrigation technologies, establishment and management of irrigation sites for improved food security and household income.

Duration 2½ years Aim of the program The programme aims at increasing competency among frontline irrigation technicians on establishment, maintenance and management of irrigation projects for improved food security and household income level.

Objectives of the Program a) Increase acquisition of knowledge and skills in irrigation technologies among irrigation technicians.

b) Increase application of knowledge on establishment and management of irrigation sites c) Enhance community mobilisation skills for irrigation farming development.

Entry Qualifications Candidates must have Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), IGCSE ‘O’ level or its equivalent with credit passes in English, Mathematics, Biology and Physical Science or General Science
