Standard Chartered Bank Sponsorship Package for KNUST Students

Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited (SCB) has provided a headline sponsorship package worth Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢50,000) for the KNUST School of Business (KSB) Week Celebration. In addition, the bank presented ICT teaching equipment such as; two sets of 65” television, two computers, two projectors and stylus pens, at a total cost of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢150,000) on Friday, 2nd October, 2020 at the KSB Auditorium.

In his welcome address, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo applauded the bank for providing the headline sponsorship package to the KSB Week Celebration annually as highly commendable.

He added that KNUST would work together support the Research Unit of the bank by developing executive short courses to meet the career and development needs of their staff. He further said that the University is committed to keeping the mutual partnership and would ensure that the branded items donated provide the necessary visibility to the bank.

Yvonne Gyebi, Head of Retail Banking at Standard Chartered Bank, explained that the presentation of the state-of-the-art digital equipment and package to the KSB would go a long way to facilitate teaching and learning in a well-equipped KSB lecture theatre.  She added that It has become an integral part of the Bank to support the University and sustain their partnership.

Present at the ceremony were Prof. Charles Marfo and Ben K.B. Banful, Provosts of the College Humanities and Social Sciences and Agriculture and Natural Resources respectively, Prof. Nathaniel Boso, Dean of the KNUST School of business and other members of the Faculty.
