GIJ Announce Date for 14th Congregation 2020

The Management of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has announced to hold it’s first, the second and third session of the 14th congregation from Friday, November 13 to Saturday, November 14, 2020.

The 14th congregation is for students who successfully completed their undergraduate programme during the 2019/2020 academic year.

Congregation;

First: B.A in Communication studies (Journalism) on Friday, November 13, 2020, at 10: 00 am.

Second: B.A in Communication studies (Public Relations) on Friday November 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm.

Third: Diploma in Communication studies on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 10: 00 am.

The University in a blogpost sighted by Georgeweb.org indicated President Akufo-Addo is the guest of honour for the commissioning of the new campus will take place on Friday, November 13, 2020, at 9: 00 am.

“In the view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 14th congregation is restricted to graduands only,” it said in the blogpost.

According to GIJ, graduands who will be attending the 14th congregation are to take note of the following:

i. A dress rehearsal will be held on Thursday 12th November 2020 at the Dzorwulu Campus at 10:00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. Graduands are entreated to be present to acquaint themselves with procedures and arrangements to ensure for error-free congregation ceremonies. Graduands who do not observe the COV1D-19 protocol of wearing a nose mask will not be permitted into the event grounds.

iii. Provision will be made for handwashing stands at vantage points and ushers at the event will carry hand sanitizers to dispense to graduands and all present.

iv. Due to the COV1D-19 pandemic, the event is restricted to graduands, invited guests and staff of the Institute only. Parents and acquaintances of graduands will not be permitted into the event grounds.
