UDS 2021/2022 Scholarship for Graduate Programmes Open

Applications for scholarship admission to graduate programmes in the Graduate School of the University for Development Studies (UDS) for the following two (2) programmes:

i.MPhil in Community Health and Development; and

ii.MPH in Environmental Health Science

.

The School of Public Health, University for Development Studies, Tamale in partnership with DAAD is inviting applications for MPhil in Community Health and Development and MPH in Environmental Health Science for admission in August 2021/22 academic year.

Limited DAAD Scholarships are available for applicants from Ghana and other African countries

Eligibility for the Scholarship

Prospective applicants for MPhil Community Health and Development must have the following:

A good first degree (at least Second Class Upper) in Midwifery, Nursing, Nutrition, Pharmacy, Medicine and Integrated Development Studies from UDS or any recognized University.

Prospective applicants for MPH Environmental Health Science must have the following:

A good first degree (Second Class Upper or better) in: Environmental Health Science and Occupational safety, Health Science Education and Promotion, Nursing, Midwifery, Medicine, Nutrition or an appropriate area in the life sciences from UDS or any recognized University.

For candidates whose first language is not English, an English proficiency certificate will be required.

MODE OF APPLICATION

All Ghanaian and foreign applicants for the 2020/2021 academic year admissions are required to use the UDS online application portal. The procedure for the online application process is as follows:

i.Make a payment of GHS 200.00 (Two Hundred Ghana Cedis) in the case of Ghanaian applicants, and USD 150.00 (One Hundred and fifty United States Dollars), for

Development Bank (ADB), Prudential Bank, National Investment Bank (NIB), GCB Bank, Stanbic Bank and Ecobank branches throughout the country.

ii.The E-Vouchercontains the PIN, and Serial Number required for the completion of the online form.

iii.Access the online form by visiting our online admissions portal at http://admissions.uds.edu.gh soon after payment.

iv.In completing the online form, applicants will be required to upload their passport size photographs and certificates. Applicants using objects instead of their own photographs would be disqualified.

v.A completed form will not be considered for admission unless it is SUBMITTED online after accepting our data confirmation policy

vi.Applicants are advised to check thoroughly all details entered before finally submitting their online applications. A form, once submitted, can be viewed, but cannot be edited.

vii.Applicants must print out three copies of the application summaryattach three (3) passport-sized photographs, results slipscertificates and all other relevant documents to each formThree reference letters are also required (at least, two of the referees should be familiar with applicants’ academic work).

viii.Candidates are strongly advised to visit any EMS Office in the Country for assistance towards the return of the application documents (see vii). Applicants are advised not to post the forms themselves. They should seek the advice and services of Ghana Post EMS.

Academic transcript, certified copies of first-degree certificate and proposal (concept note) for those applying for the MPhil programme and statement of purpose

Note:

Prospective applicants whose first degree is more than six (6) year old

(ie Degree acquired from 2014 or later) , are not qualified for the Scholarship.
