University of Malawi Chancellor College Applications for Enrolment into the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Programme 2021

The Faculty of Law at Chancellor College, University of Malawi, invites applications for enrolment into the Bachelor of Laws (Honours), LLB (Hons), Programme for the 2021 academic year. The following are the admission options, eligibility criteria, and processes for entry into the programme.

1. Entry Options

The programme has two entry options:

a) At first year;

b) At any appropriate year.

2. Enrolment Exercise

Enrolment into the LLB (Hons) Programme is subject to selection by the Faculty following an enrolment assessment entry exercise.

3. Enrolment at First Year

An applicant is eligible for an assessment entry exercise for enrolment at first year if she or he has at least six credits obtained at one sitting in her or his IGSCE, MSCE, or any equivalent examination system recognised by the University of Malawi and meets either set of the criteria below:

Set A

a) At least a cumulative credit average grade (or GPA of 3.00) after her or his first year

of her or his degree programme in any Malawian public university; or

b) Three A-Level passes with a minimum of two Bs and one C obtained at one sitting; or

Set B

a) A first degree with at least a credit from the University of Malawi or universities duly recognised by the University of Malawi; or

b) A diploma in law with at least a credit from a tertiary institution affiliated to and recognised by the University of Malawi.4. Enrolment at Any Stage of the Programme

An applicant is eligible for enrolment at any stage of the programme if she or he:

a) Is pursuing a professional law degree qualification in a University recognised by the University of Malawi; and

b) Has passed an assessment exercise appropriate for the year of desired entry.

5. Mode of Application and Deadline

Interested individuals must complete an online application at https://clea.cc.ac.mw/. The applicant must upload a passport photo, copies of certificates or notification of results

authenticated by a Commissioner for Oaths and proof of a deposit of a non-refundable processing fee into the following bank account:

National Bank of Malawi,

Zomba Branch,

Account Number 299863.

The processing fee for internal applicants is MK15, 000.00, and MK25, 000.00, for external applicants.
