ADMISSION POLICY FOR THE SESSION 2021

Modes of Admission and Eligibility Criteria for admission to B. Tech, M. Tech, MBA first year and B. Tech II year (Lateral Entry

  1. Admission through UPSEE 2020
    1. 85% of the total intake available in Institute in B.Tech. Will be filled by the candidate who will be allotted seats through UPSEE 2020. The 85% seats are filled as under:
    2. 75% seats to be filled by the candidates who have clearly passed intermediate examination from U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized board / university or whose parents are Domicile of UP.
    3. 10% seats to be filled by candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an Institution located outside U.P. and whose parents are not domicile of U.P. through UPSEE-2020.
    4. Eligibility for admission to first year of B.Tech candidate must have passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent with compulsory subjects i.e., Physics and Mathematics and one optional subject as chemistry and obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
    5. Eligibility for admission to first year of MBA candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree course of three years minimum duration from any recognized Indian University; or its equivalent, recognized by A.I.U securing minimum 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) marks in aggregate
    6. Eligibility for admission to Second year of B.Tech (Lateral Entry)
    7. Candidates who have passed three years Engineering Diploma from an Institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) OR whose parents (Father or mother) are domicile of Uttar Pradesh and he/she has passed three years Engineering Diploma with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) recognized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P., in any branch of Engineering (except Agriculture Engg., Pharmacy and Architecture), are eligible for admission to Second year in any branch of Engineering / Technology.
    8. Candidates who have passed (with/without grace) three years B.Sc. degree and passed XII standard with mathematics as one of the subject from any recognized University; securing minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate, are also eligible for admission to second year in any branch of UPSEE-2020 These candidates shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with the candidates belonging to the Diploma stream. The candidates belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall clear the subjects Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing/Engineering Mechanics (as applicable in University Curriculum) of the first year Engineering programme along with the second-year subjects
    9. Eligibility for admission to first year of M Tech candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree course of four years minimum duration from any recognized Indian University; or its equivalent, recognized by A.I.U securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  2. Admission to Fee Waiver seats for Economically Weaker Meritorious Student
    1. As per AICTE notification Fee Waiver seats for economically weaker meritorious candidates are also available in B.Tech. Course. The fee waiver seats will be limited to maximum of 5% of the sanctioned intake in the course and will be over and above of the sanctioned intake. No tuition fee will be charged from such candidates admitted against such seats. These seats are allotted through UPSEE counselling.
  3. ADMISSION TO KASHMIRI MIGRANTS IN FIRST YEAR
    1. Direct admission to Kashmiri Migrants in first year in each institute is to be made as per the latest instructions of AICTE and orders from U.P. Govt. Such admissions will be over and above the sanctioned intake and normally limited up to one admission per Institute affiliated to Dr. APJ AKTU, Lucknow. The detailed information will be published in various newspapers and University website http://www.aktu.ac.in. The candidates, opting for admission under this scheme, need not appear in UPSEE-2020.
  4. PMSSS
    1. Direct admission to students of UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh (PMSSS) under Prime Minister special scholarship scheme in first year is to be made as per the latest instructions of Department of Higher Education MHRD, Govt of India. Such admissions will be over and above the sanctioned intake.
  5. Admission through Management Quota
    1. 15% of the total intake available will be filled by institute as per the laid down norms of UPSEE 2020 and State Government.
    2. B Tech Course candidate must have passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent with compulsory subjects i.e., Physics and Mathematics and one optional subject as chemistry and obtained at least 60% marks in the above subjects taken together.
    3. MBA Course candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree course of three years minimum duration from any recognized Indian University; or its equivalent, recognized by A.I.U securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate
  6. Vacant Seats After Counselling of UPSEE 2020
    1. The vacant seats after counselling of UPSEE 2020 shall be filled by the Institute as per the laid down norms of UPSEE 2020 and the State Government.
    2. B Tech Course candidate must have passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent with compulsory subjects i.e., Physics and Mathematics and one optional subject as chemistry and obtained at least 60% marks in the above subjects taken together.
    3. MBA Course candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree course of three years minimum duration from any recognized Indian University; or its equivalent, recognized by A.I.U securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
    4. For B Tech Lateral Entry Candidates the vacant seats after counselling shall be filled by Institute as per the laid down norms of UPSEE 2020 and State Government.
