Application for Open University of Mauritius Admission 2021 Academic Year

MSc in Agronomy is a postgraduate programme, which encompasses the study of crops, soil and the environment in which they flourish, as well as their interactions with each other. It provides graduates with a thorough knowledge and
understanding of how agricultural productivity can improve food and nutrition security, and assist farmers and extension officers with the ability to systematise more efficient food production processes.

Applicants should submit application form online only. Online application is currently open and the deadline for submission of application is Tuesday 06th April 2021. Payment of Application Fee should be effected by Friday 09th April 2021.
GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
 General Requirements
At least a Second Class or a CPA ≥ 50%, whichever is applicable or A GPA not less than 2.5 out of 4 or
equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution.
OR alternate qualifications acceptable to the University of Mauritius.
 Programme Requirements
A Bachelor`s Degree in Agriculture or related fields or equivalent qualifications acceptable to the University of Mauritius.

The University reserves the right to review General Fees, Tuition Fees and other charges for any given academic year prior to the beginning of such academic year. By accepting a seat at the University, the student undertakes to pay all such fees as and when claimed. Fees for Year 1 payable on registration: Rs 75,800
Fees for the whole programme: Rs 169,600

Mature Candidates
Mature candidates who do not meet the Minimum Entry Requirements may apply for the above Taught Postgraduate Programme. If they wish to be considered as Mature Candidates, it is compulsory that they tick the box at Section 16 of the Application Form and attach documentary evidence with regard to work experience (only those who have filled in this section and submitted the requested documents will be considered for admission as Mature Candidates). Applications are also invited from suitably qualified candidates wishing to follow one module or more
from above-mentioned programme as ‘Auditeur Libre’ against payment of relevant fees. The

Please note that the following Direct Debit facilities (Bank Standing Order) will be available for settlement of Total Fees and upon request. If you avail yourself of this facility, you will be required to settle your fees as follows:
 Payment of 25% of Total Fees on registration date.
 Balance of 75% of Total Fees to be paid in 3 equal and consecutive monthly instalments. Payment is to be made as from the end of the following month after registration. A Standing Order Form will be available at the Finance Director’s Office during the registration exercise. The form duly filled in, should be submitted before registration.
In case of revocation of the Standing Order before its termination, you will not be admitted to the examinations as per University regulations.

Applicants will NOT be required to call at the University for application procedures.  Application for admission is currently open. All procedures and instructions indicated should be carefully followed.  Applicants should submit application form online only.

The system is accessible via the UoM Website under the “Campus Facilities menu”
Applicants should always keep a copy of the proof of payment as the University may ask the applicants to
produce a copy of it. Candidates should send a copy of their signed application form (i.e Form A, where all selected
programmes are listed), together with their qualifications by email: applicationsubmission@uom.ac.mu
The University will acknowledge receipt of application online when payment is received. Applicants
will then be able to print their receipt online. Your application will then be locked and you will not
be able to amend the Form (These procedures will be done after the lockdown).
The University is not liable for any wrong or incomplete information submitted. Any Financial
Charges, where applicable, will have to be borne by the Applicant.

Applications received after the closing date or not supported by the relevant documents and the non-
refundable Application Fee of Rs 1,500 will not be considered.

(ii) Applications not submitted on the prescribed online form will not be considered.
(iii) Applicants are informed that the University reserves the right not to run any one of the above mentioned
programmes should there be an insufficient number of students registered for same.
(iv) Applicants are informed that the University is under no obligation to find employment eventually for
successful applicants.
(v) The University reserves the right to amend the Programme Structures and individual modules, as well as the
offer of modules during the duration of a course at any time with reasonable notice, by letters circulated
through the Programme Coordinator and email to students concerned at least one month prior to the
implementation of the amendment(s) made.
