Application for Copperbelt University January Admission

ADVERTISEMENT FOR ADMISSIONS FOR 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR TO COMMENCE IN JANUARY 2022

The Copperbelt University invites applications for the Academic Year 2021/2022 starting in January 2022 to be undertaken at the Michael Chilufya Sata School of Medicine in Ndola in the following degree programmes under parallel (self-sponsorship):

1. Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine (4 years)

Admission Criteria

  • Applicants with a Diploma in Clinical Medicine with average graduation grade of “B” shall be admitted into second year
  • Registration with the HPCZ and a minimum of 2 years working experience.
  • Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.

2. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (6 years)

Admission Criteria

  • Applicants should have obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Sciences or Health related field at credit level and shall be admitted into second year.
  •  Applicants who have passed first year courses of the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Copperbelt University
  • Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.

3. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (6 years)

         Admission Criteria

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Sciences or Health related field at credit level and shall be admitted into second year
  • Possess a Diploma in Dentistry or equivalent from an approved Dental Training Institution and shall be admitted into second year
  •  Applicants who have passed first year courses of the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Copperbelt University shall be admitted into second year.
  • Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.

4. Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences (5 years)

Admission Criteria

Successful applicants will be admitted at two different levels as follows:

Level 1 Second year entry:

  • Applicants with an Advanced Certificate or a Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification with Credit or better and have two years work experience 
  •  Applicants who have passed first year courses of the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Copperbelt University shall be admitted into second year.
  • .Applicants should also have at least 5 ‘O’ Levels including English, Mathematics, Sciences (Physics and Chemistry), Biology and any other subject.

Level 2 Third year entry:

  • Applicants with a Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences or an equivalent qualification with Credit or better.
  • Candidates should also have at least 5 ‘O’ Levels including English, Mathematics, Sciences (Physics and Chemistry), Biology and any other subject.

5. Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (5 years)

Admission Criteria

Successful applicants will be admitted at two different levels as follows:

Level 1 Second year entry:

  • Applicants who have passed first year courses of the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Copperbelt University .
  • Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

Level 2 Third year entry:

  • Applicants with a relevant diploma such as Public Health or Environmental Health.
  • Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

6. Bachelor of Science in Public Health (5 years)

Admission Criteria

Level 1 Second year entry:

  • Applicants who have passed first year courses of the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Copperbelt University.
  • Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

Level 2 Third year entry:

  • Diploma graduates from any recognised University or College in the field of Biological science, Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine/Science and any other related field of study
  • Diploma graduates in health related field of study such as Statistics, Demography, Food science and Public health may apply provided they are graduates from a recognised University or College.
  • Diploma Medical, Nursing and Veterinary graduates with at least two (2) years of related medical or veterinary experience will have an added advantage.
  • Candidates wishing to pursue any specific course(s) under this programme may be considered and will be awarded a certificate upon successful completion. Such students shall not be eligible for the award of the BSc in Public Health.
  • Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

Female applicants and candidates living in rural areas of Zambia are especially   encouraged to apply.

Method of Application

              Candidates are requested to apply on-line by logging on to the Copperbelt University

Website at www//cbu.edu.zm and clicking the online application link. Applicants are further advised to complete and submit the form online and thereafter print the ZANACO student Bill Muster form. This is what will be used to make a payment of K200.00 at any Zambia National Commercial Bank Branch (ZANACO).
