How can I access my results?
Individual results can be accessed
- online at www.ieb-online.co.za and
- via SMS
You must have your examination number and date of birth to log on to the website.
How do I get my results via SMS?
If you have already provided the IEB with your cell phone number, your results will automatically be sent to that number
If not, you can register by sending an SMS to 35135 between 1 October 2017 and December 2021. Use the following text in the message:
Results Examination Number Birth Date (ccyymmdd)
Example:
Results 173456789012 19980121
You will receive a message confirming registration has been successful. Please note that SMSs cost R3,00.
What will the SMS of my results look like?

What else do I need to know?
Certificates
Certificates and statements of results are issued by Umalusi and are distributed by the IEB as arranged with schools.
Remarks/Re-checks
The closing date for re-marks and re-checks is Wednesday, 10 January. You can apply online at www.ieb-online.co.za for a re-mark or re-check. You must have your examination number and date of birth to log on to the website. Please refer to your statement of results for further information. The date of release of results for re-marks/re-checks is February.
Supplementary examinations
Applications for supplementary examinations only open in February. The closing date for learners who qualify for the supplementary examinations is 12 February. The results for supplementary exams will be released in March. The closing date for re-marks/re-checks of the supplementary exams is Friday, April with these results being released in April.
