Application

Selection of applicants for undergraduate courses will be based on academic merit. Due to keen competition for limited vacancies, the choice order of courses will also determine the selection outcome. Hence, applicants are advised to list out their course choices in their order of preference.

At National University of Singapore, one gets to choose between a broad spectrum of multidisciplinary programs, which includes 70 joint, concurrent, and double degree programs. The application period for every academic year starts from October 15 and continues till April. Minimum requirements for undergraduate admissions at NUS include minimum SAT score of 600 for evidence-based Reading and Writing section and 650 for the mathematics section while minimum ACT composite score of 29 with a minimum of 8 in the Writing component. Masters program at NUS demand GMAT score of 650, which is a must for MBA. Indian applicants may submit their GATE score with a minimum score of 90% instead of GRE or GMAT to apply to NUS.

National University of Singapore Undergraduate Admissions

International students account for almost 32% of the total student population of NUS. The university has streamlined its process for admissions to make it a hassle-free experience for students. Before signing up and creating an account to make an online application for undergraduate courses go through the below-mentioned points:

  • Do thorough research on the programs offered at NUS and choose the course that best suits your academic interests.
  • Have a look at the admission requirements and application deadlines and See if you meet subject-specific requirements for the chosen course
  • Pay an application fee of 20 SGD and generate an 8-digit PIN in order to log in to ‘Online Application Status Facility’ and track the progress of your application.

Admission Requirements:

  • Personal Details: Full name as it appears in the passport and a valid email address.
    Academic Details: You will be required to mention whether you have completed the class 12 final examination or not. In case if the class 12 results are unavailable, you will be required to share the results of class 11.
  • Additional Test Scores: You may provide scores of any of the standardized tests to study in Singapore, such as MUET, SAT, Cambridge English, TOEFL, AP. Submission of standardized test scores is not compulsory, however, may be used to further enhance your application.
  • University or Tertiary Education Details: In case if you have attained any previous degree from any other tertiary institution, you will be required to provide the academic results.
  • Previous Achievements: Although it is optional to provide any information related to your outstanding accomplishments, it is recommended that you do mention it t boost your application further. This primarily includes details related to:
    • participation in any International Science Olympiad
    • engagement in activities at the national or international level
    • Personal statement giving a brief insight into your academic and other accomplishments.
  • Health-related Information: You will be required to mention health or mental conditions, or mental or physical disability if you have any. Also, you need to mention drug or food allergy, if you have any.
  • Criminal Record: Furthermore, you will be required to mention if you hold any previous criminal record.
  • Financial Aid and Tuition Grant: You will be required to mention if you are seeking any scholarship to study at NUS or tuition grant and make a separate application accordingly.

NUS English Language Requirements for International Students

Student Visa for International Students

International students will be required to obtain a student pass to study in Singapore. A visa is called “Pass” in Singapore. Application for Student pass must be made at least a month before the start of the academic year. General requirements to obtain a student visa to study in Singapore are mentioned below.

  • A valid passport
  • Letter of acceptance from the university.
  • A printed copy of e-form and form V36.
