Ngee Ann Polytechnic Application for Admission

The Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) is administered by Ngee Ann Polytechnic to allow applicants whose qualification types are ineligible under JAE and JPAE to apply for admission to our full-time diploma courses.

Prospective applicants whose national exams have been cancelled or deferred due to COVID-19 may still submit an application, which may be considered on a case-by-case basis. They should submit proof that they had registered for the national exams along with their application. Applicants may be required to sit for additional tests or assessments as required by the polytechnic. Overseas candidates must make their own travel arrangements to and from Singapore if they wish to sit for the entrance examination. 1. Can I apply?

International qualification holders, including Returning Singaporeans, can apply for admission under the DAE.For Returning Singaporeans only: Returning Singaporeans are required to have completed at least Year 10 of High School with:

  • English: Minimum Grade B
  • Mathematics: Minimum Grade B
  • 1 relevant and 2 best subjects: Minimum Grade B

You must be holding one of the following international academic qualifications and meet the respective Minimum Entry Requirements in the table below.
For qualifications where English is not a compulsory subject, the following alternative English Language proficiency minimum scores can be considered:

  • IELTS with minimum score of 6 or
  • TOEFL Internet-Based Test with minimum score of 78 or
  • IGCSE English as a First Language with minimum grade C

International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees at NP are highly subsidised by the Singapore Government for eligible students under the Tuition Grant (TG) Scheme. For AY2021, the polytechnics will continue to adopt a cohort-based fee structure, which means that fees will remain constant for the entire duration of the course.

The Government will continue to absorb the GST chargeable on tuition fees payable by Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident students. The tuition fees for International Students in AY2021 is inclusive of GST.

Tuition Grant Schemes

The Singapore Government provides tuition grants to subsidise your education at the polytechnic.

Permanent residents and foreigners who accept the tuition grant must sign a bond to work in Singapore for 3 years upon graduation. To find out more about the Tuition Grant Scheme, please refer here

Fees Payment Schedule

Students are notified of the actual course fees they have to pay via their Ngee Ann Polytechnic email accounts.

The fees are to be paid 2 times in a year.

There are two ways to check on your outstanding tuition fees.

Option 1: Online enquiry Log in to NPAL Student Self Service Portal
The navigation path to view outstanding tuition fees is: Main menu > Self Service > Financial Services > View Financial Account

Option 2: Mobile Enquiry

  1. Download ‘NPal2 mStudent’ from the App Store or Play Store
  2. Log in using your NPal2 User ID and Password
  3. Go to the page using ‘Outstanding Fee’ icon and click on it
  4. You will see the outstanding tuition fees payable under ‘Financial Summary’

Payment

Payment Mode 1: OCBC Bank branches

  1. Go to a designated OCBC bank branch (Refer to FAQ 11.4). You do not need to have an OCBC account
  2. Write your Student ID and contact no at the back of the cheque
  3. Drop the cheque into the quick cheque deposit box
  4. If payment by cash, please retain the deposit slip as proof of payment
  5. Payment will be updated in 3 working days

Payment Mode 2: AXS (Station / mobile app New / online paymentNew)

AXS station– Select Education > Ngee Ann Polytechnic > Outstanding
AXS mobile app– Select eServices > Education > Ngee Ann Polytechnic > Outstanding
AXS online payment– Go to http://axs.com.sg
Select AXS e-Station > Pay My Bills Now > eServices > Education/ Ngee Ann Polytechnic > Outstanding
  1. Enter your Student ID (e.g. 12345678A)
  2. Follow on-screen instructions and retain the receipt as proof of payment
  3. Payment will be updated in 3 working days

Payment Mode 3: Credit card

  1. Go to eEnrol Portal
  2. Click ‘My Enrolment’ and log in with your User ID and Password
  3. Follow on-screen instructions and take note of the payment reference as proof of payment
  4. An e-Receipt will be sent to your personal email address
  5. Payment will be updated in 3 working days

Payment Mode 4: PAYNOW to UEN

  1. Log in to your preferred iBanking app
  2. Enter NP’s UEN “T08GB0039AFEE”
  3. Enter your student ID in the reference field, e.g. 1020XXXXA
  4. Follow the instructions in the app to proceed with payment

Giro Application (Direct Debit Authorisation)

Direct Debit Authoristion (DDA) is an arrangement where you authorise your bank to deduct money from the account indicated in your DDA form to pay Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Once you have set up the DDA, fees will be deducted from the account that you indicated in your DDA form. You must ensure you have sufficient funds in the bank account at the time of deduction.

Change in Citizenship

Students with changes in citizenship may inform NP by downloading the AA form called “Change of Personal Particulars” under General Services here.

Please bring both the completed form and original document(s) which should prove your new citizenship status (eg: NRIC / Passport) to the SSVC@Blk 1, The Atrium during operating hours*. Officers at SSVC will sight your original documents and endorse the photocopy as “certified true copy”. Submission of the completed form without endorsement of the true copy will not be accepted.

*Operating hours of SSVC: Mon-Thu: 8:30am – 6:00 pm, Fri: 8:30am – 5pm, closed on public holidays.

Students who have officially informed NP of changes to their citizenship before the commencement of each semester will have their fees adjusted and refunded for that semester.

Students who inform NP officially of changes to their citizenship after the commencement of the semester will have their fees adjusted with effect from the next/following semester. No refund will be made for the difference in fees already paid in the current semester.

Withdrawal & Refund

Students who wish to withdraw from their course must complete a prescribed withdrawal form and submit it to their respective Academic Schools/Divisions.

Withdrawal before commencement of semester

  • 100% refund, excluding S$50 administrative charge *
  • Refund of all other fees paid (except application/amendment fee and tertiary student ez-link card application fee)

Withdrawal within 1st week of semester on valid grounds **

  • 75% refund
  • Refund of examination, sports and miscellaneous fees only

Withdrawal after 1st week of semester

  • No refund

* Administrative charge of S$50 is only applicable to new students.

** Refunds will only be made if the reasons for withdrawal are on valid grounds such as to study in another approved institution in Singapore, or on medical grounds.

Permanent Residents (PR) and International Students (IS) must execute the Tuition Grant deed with MOE before they are eligible to apply for FAS.
