Kaplan Singapore Application for Admission/ Intake

All applications must be submitted to Kaplan Higher Education Academy at least 6 weeks before the start of each intake.

Documents required for programme application:

Programme Application (For international students only) – Kaplan Higher Education Academy

Considerable care is taken by the university and the school in the selection of students. Normally the university takes about 4 weeks to process each application. Therefore, it is advisable for students to apply for admission at least 6 weeks before the start of each programme/intake.

Student’s Pass Application and Processes

As part of the Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA) regulations, all foreigners who express their interest in having their education full-time in Singapore are required to apply for Student’s Pass subject to ICA’s approval. An applicant who wishes to take up a part-time programme conducted in the evening or weekend will NOT be eligible for the Student’s Pass.

Information on Student’s Pass application and the application forms is readily available to be downloaded from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority website at http://www.ica.gov.sg
Documents to be submitted for Student’s pass application:

  1. Completed Student’s Pass Application forms: Form 16 and V36
  2. Certified/Notarised copy of Birth Certificate, Highest Academic Qualification, Highest Academic Transcripts and Band Statements/Fixed Deposit Account/Saving Account
  3. Employer’s letter certifying applicant’s occupation and salary (if applicable)
  4. Employer’s letter certifying parent’s occupation and salary (if applicable)
  5. Passport-sized photograph of student (full colour on WHITE background)

The Student’s Pass is applied by Kaplan Singapore on behalf of the student and the whole approval process starting from submission of full documents and information to issuance of the In-Principle Approval of the Student’s Pass is expected to take between 3-4 weeks in general.

How to Apply


Application and Selection

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore requires all foreign students to hold a valid Student’s Pass for their full-time study in Singapore. The Student’s Pass is applied by Kaplan Higher Education Academy on behalf of the international student. As considerable care is taken by the University and Kaplan Higher Education Academy in the selection of students, they usually take about 3 weeks to process each application. Therefore, it is advisable for individuals to apply for admission at least 6 weeks before the start of each intake.

A. Student’s Pass Application

  1. All Student’s Pass holders have to ensure that their purpose of holding a valid Student’s Pass in Singapore is educational.
  2. Student’s Pass holders are required to notify ICA of any change in passport particulars or place of residence within 14 days of the change through this link.
  3. All Student’s Pass holders are to ensure that their attendance has to be 90% and above.
  4. Student’s Pass holders are only eligible to study in Singapore with a valid Student’s Pass.
  5. All Student’s Pass holders are only allowed to attend the programme at Kaplan Higher Education Academy as stated in the Student’s Pass application.
  6. Student’s Pass holders cannot commit criminal offences.

Should the Student’s Pass holder breach the undertaking, the Controller of Immigration will cancel the Student’s Pass and he/she will have to leave Singapore within 24 hours. If the Student’s Pass holder does not meet the attendance percentage requirements, Kaplan in Singapore will have to report this to ICA immediately.

  1. Completed Student’s Pass Application Forms: Form 16 (only applies to upgrader/renewal/local transfer applications)
  2. Passport and/or Birth Certificate
  3. Old Student’s Pass or Embarkation Form
  4. Passport-sized photograph of student (full colour on WHITE background)

The Student’s Pass is applied by Kaplan in Singapore on behalf of the student. The approval process starting from submission of full documents and information to issuance of the In-Principle Approval of the Student’s Pass is expected to take between 3-4 weeks.

Student’s Pass Application and Processes for Renewal

Student is required to submit the Student’s Pass renewal application form to the Programme Manager (PM) 1 month before expiry of the Student’s Pass. PM will inform the student once the Student’s Pass is approved. Student will upload the Terms and Conditions of Student’s Pass Form and Medical Examination Report (where applicable) via ICA portal. After the issuance fees are processed, student will be informed to bring along the IPA letter, passport, passport-sized photograph and old Student’s Pass or Embarkation Form to complete their Student’s Pass formalities at ICA after logging into SOLAR+ to make an e-appointment. Student will submit a copy of the new Student’s Pass to PM once they have collected it.
