Award of Scholarships to International Students by the University of Technology, Mauritius

The University of Technology, Mauritius is awarding scholarships to deserving international students with excellent HSC (or equivalent) results to enrol for full time undergraduate programmes at the University of Technology, Mauritius as per the following criteria: 

(i) International students having scored at least 24 points at HSC or GCE A-level (or equivalent) are eligible to apply for a Scholarship available in their first year upon registration as a student, computed on the basis of the following grades obtained in three Principal subjects: A+ = 10; A = 9; B = 8; C = 7; D = 6; Five (05) such Scholarships will be made available following a competitive selection;

(ii) The Scholarships will be granted to the most deserving applicants, selected as a result of a combination of their HSC results and their performance at a face to face interview after they have enrolled as a student;

(iii) The Scholarship will cover:

     (a) 40% of the fees payable to the University in their first year for students from non-SADC countries;

     (b) 50% of the fees payable to the University in their first year for students from SADC countries.

(iv) International students having scored at least 21 points at HSC or GCE A-level (or equivalent) are eligible to apply for a Scholarship available in their first year upon registration as a student, computed on the basis of the following grades obtained in three Principal subjects: A+ = 10; A = 9; B = 8; C = 7; D = 6; Five (05) such Scholarships will be made available following a competitive selection;

(v) The Scholarship will cover:

  (a) 25% of the fees payable to the University in their first year for students from non-SADC countries;

  (b) 35% of the fees payable to the University in their first year for students from SADC countries.

(vi) The Scholarship is thereafter renewable yearly subject to the awardee’s marks in all modules for the preceding academic year being above 65%;

(vii) Depending on the time the application is made, the Scholarship in the subsequent years may take the form of either waiving of the appropriate proportion of the fees or a refund of such amount already paid;

(viii) These scholarships will apply only for courses offered and run at the UTM main campus and not for any of its affiliated programmes run by other education providers;

(xi) Beneficiaries of other Scholarships or grants to pursue studies at the University of Technology, Mauritius shall not be eligible to apply to this Scholarship Scheme.
