MANEB MSCE Examinations Results Statistics

Release of the 2021 MSCE Examinations Results by the Minister of Education, Hon. Agnes NyaLonje who was accompanied to the press briefing by Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Monica Chang’anamuno, Secretary for Education Chikondano C. Mussa, The Malawi National Examinations Board-MANEB Executive Director Prof. Dorothy Nampota, Board Chairperson Prof. Al Mtenje among others.

Some statistics about 2021 MSCE examinations results

1.Out of 123,008 candidates who sat the examinations 63, 949 have passed. This represents 51.99% pass rate.

2. Out of 57,999 female candidates who sat for this examination, 26, 311 have passed representing 45.36% pass rate.

3.Out of 65,009 male candidates who sat for the examination 37, 638 have passed. This represents 57.90% pass rate.

4. Out of the 508 Special Needs Education (SNE) candidates who sat for this examination, 213 have passed and this represents 41.93 % pass rate.

5.Out of the 262 SNE male candidates who sat for this examination, 115 have passed. This represents 43.89% pass rate.

6.Out of the 246 SNE female candidates who sat for this examination, 98 have passed. This represents 39.84 % pass rate.

7.Top ten education districts in terms of descending order are a. Zomba Urbanb. Dowac. Phalombed.Mzuzu Citye. Dedzaf. Ntchisi g. Mulanjeh. Nkhatabayi.Nenoj.Karonga

8.Performance of Education Divisions in descending order is as follows :a. Central East b. Northern c. Shire Highlands d. South East e. South West f. Central West9.A total of 14 schools have registered 100 % pass rate while 6 schools have registered 0 % pass rate.

Candidates are awarded a Malawi School Certificate of Education if (a) they obtain a pass in six subjects including English, with a credit pass in at least one of them or(b) they obtain a pass in five subjects, including English, with a credit pass in at least three of the subjects.
