Minister of Education Agness NyaLonje has said this year’s Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education Examinations are progressing well across the country as compared to 2021.

“This time last year, we had a different story because of Covid-19 which included high absenteeism,” she said.

This morning Nyalonje visited Ekwendeni Primary School in Mzimba District where 204 learners are sitting for the examinations and St Augustine Primary School in Mzuzu where there are

253 candidates.

Among the candidates at Ekwendeni Primary School, there are six special needs learners, of which three are visually impaired.

This year, 266 639 candidates registered for the examinations.
