Undergraduate Admission for the 2023/2024 Academic Year

University of Botswana (UB) wishes to inform all those who applied for undergraduate admission, and the public that: 

  1. Enquiries on UB admission are open. 
     
  2. All admitted applicants have been sent offer letters by email.  
     
  3. Applicants should access the admission list on the UB website:  www.ub.bw or the Department of Academic Services Facebook page:  UB Academic Services, to check their names on the admission list.  Those whose names appear on the list but have not yet received their admission offers should check their emails before contacting Undergraduate Admissions Office at Main Campus by calling the following telephone numbers;  +267 355 2912/2003/4625/2183/2931 or sending an email to: admissions@ub.ac.bw  
     
  4. The University of Botswana has admission vacancies in some programmes of study. Unsuccessful applicants may apply for ONE of them provided they meet the programme requirements, including the Competitive Admission Cut-Off Points shown on the published admission list.  The list of these programmes is available online through the “STUDY” link on the UB website:  www.ub.bw
     
  5. Application Form for an additional programme of study is available online through the “STUDY” link on the UB website:  www.ub.bw  Completed application form should be sent by email to admissions@ub.ac.bw Admission of applicants will be made based on eligibility, academic merit and availability of space in their programme of choice.
     
  6. All applicants who have queries regarding their application status should contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office by calling; +267 3552912/2003/4625/2183/2931 or email: admissions@ub.ac.bw
     
  7. New applications are still being received until 30th June 2023.  All applications are to be completed online through the “STUDY” link on the UB website: www.ub.bw
     
  8. Please note that the published admission list is not exhaustive.
     
  9. The University of Botswana has made every effort to ensure that the published list of successful applicants is correct.  Nevertheless, the University shall not be held responsible for names included mistakenly in the admission list.

All prospective applicants are informed that applications for undergraduate study programmes for August 2023 intake will continue to be open until 30th June 2023.

All the University of Botswana undergraduate study programmes are registered with the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA).

Former undergraduate students, who have been away from the University for less than 10 semesters (five academic years), are invited to apply tooThis includes former students who previously withdrew with/without due notice; failed and discontinued/excluded; enrolment terminated; and have been away from the University for at least one semester.

On-line Application

Prospective applicants are expected to make their applications online through the STUDY link. A guide in the form of a booklet, entitled ONLINE APPLICATION: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE, on how to complete an application online is provided through the STUDY link.

Applicants with Disability

University of Botswana welcomes applicants with disability and considers their applications on academic merit like all other applicants.  Applicants are expected to state whether they have any disability or not when they apply.  Those with disability may contact the University’s Disability Support Services Unit at the following telephone numbers: (+267) 355 2768/4183/4990/4991 to explain the nature of their disability.  The declaration of such information helps the University in assessing the learning needs of every applicant. Application Fee

Prospective applicants are encouraged to pay their Application Fee on-line through the link https://www.ub.bw/ubpayments or at the Banks and should write their full names and IDs as reference on the deposit slip.

Applicants may make changes to their study choices through a letter to:

Admission Processing

Applicants who meet the set programme entry requirements will be admitted based on academic merit, depending on the availability of space.  Meeting the minimum entry requirements therefore does not guarantee admission.

Closing date

Applications for August 2023 entry for both local and international prospects will close on 30th June 2023.
