Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is a public University of Ghana that focuses on science and technology. The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is the public university established in the country, as well as the largest university in the Kumasi Metropolis and in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
Mature Age Entry requirements:
Applicants must be at least 25 years at the time of application.
Applicants must register for, attend and complete the University of Ghana Access Course and pass the Mature Students Entrance Examination conducted by the University.
Applicants who pass the Entrance Examination must purchase an e-voucher from designated Banks to access the UG online application form.
The Access Course is run at the Learning Centres in the 10 regional capitals.
Admissions will be into Level 100 of the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Administration Programmes.
How do mature students apply to university?
Eligibility
You have completed year 12 at any time.
You hold an Associate Diploma, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma.
You have at any time completed at least one year of full-time equivalent (i.e. eight courses) at a university or college of advanced education at degree level.

What does applying as a mature student mean?
A mature student is usually applicants who are over 19 years old and do not have a high school diploma or GED.
Adults can apply to attend colleges or universities as mature students. Applications by mature students are evaluated differently from applicants who have just finished high school.

Do mature students pay university fees?
There are no age limits on eligibility for tuition fee loans and government maintenance grants, so mature students can apply provided you’re studying for a first degree.
Tuition fee loans are available to cover the cost of tuition fees and are paid directly to the university or college.
