Diploma in General Nursing
Duration: 3 Years
Requirements
A minimum of six (6) subjects at COSC level with the following:
- Pass of 7 in English Language
- Pass of 7 in Mathematics
OR
- Pass of 8 in Mathematics and Credit in Principles of Accounts
- Credit in Biology that goes with pass in Physics and Chemistry
OR
- Pass in Biology that goes with credit in Physics and Chemistry
- Credit in any other three subjects
Rationale for the Programme
The program is designed to prepare learners to function as competent, assertive and committed nurses within a variety of settings such as home, community and hospital with emphasis on holistic and comprehensive quality health care which includes health promotion, prevention of illness, curative and rehabilitative services. It is also aimed at producing nurses who can respond to national health needs at all levels of health care services through integration of Primary Health Care strategy and respond to emerging health challenges of the 21st century and achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
