Emirates College For Advanced Education ECAE Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements
A. A Baccalaureate/Bachelor’s degree in education or a related discipline appropriate for the In-Service PGDE Program from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0-point scale or its established equivalent.
Applicants with a degree from a university outside of the UAE are required to produce a certificate of equivalency from the Ministry of Education in the UAE.
B. A current International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or equivalent (TOEFL IBT or Pearson PTE Academic or EmSAT) or higher.
C. Currently serving as a teacher or with recent teaching experience (at least one year).
D. Provisional entry with a CGPA no less than 2.0 on a 4.0-point scale (or equivalent), and with an IELTS of 5.5 or equivalent (TOEFL IBT or Pearson PTE Academic or EmSAT). There are additional requirements for provisional entry upon a period of provisional admission.
Early Childhood Education
Specific Requirements for Admission to Tracks/concentrations:
i. For Early Childhood Education, a degree in either Education, Psychology, or a related discipline is acceptable.
Teaching the English Language
English Language Requirement:
i. Students must provide evidence of a minimum score of 7.0 in IELTS academic or its equivalent on the English language portion of the EmSAT examination, or on other national or internationally recognized tests that are approved by the CAA. Conditional admission for IELTS academic score <7.0 will not apply.

Specific Requirements for Admission to Tracks/concentrations:
i. For Teaching the English Language, a degree in either Education, English, Linguistics or a related discipline is acceptable.
ECAE will give preferential consideration to teachers with an undergraduate degree in the subject of the selected track. For the In-Service PGDE in Teaching Science, a degree in either education, science, or a related discipline is acceptable.
For the In-Service PGDE in Teaching Mathematics, Teaching Biology, Teaching Chemistry or Teaching Physics, the applicant should hold a degree in the subject of their chosen track or a closely related discipline.
