You can purchase Government securities by either submitting a bid yourself directly to the Bank of
Zambia or through any of the local commercial banks that will submit the bid to the Bank of Zambia on your behalf.
What is the minimum amount to invest in bonds in Zambia?
The minimum investment amount is ZMW 1,000.00 for bonds purchased on the primary market and ZMW 30,000.00 for those purchased on the secondary market.
Charges include a handling fee which is 1% of the coupon amount and withholding tax which is 15% of the coupon income.
