- Always admit personal faults. Nobody is perfect and the oral board panel know this.
- Be proportionate.
- Monitor your body language.

How hard is the police final interview?
We believe that, on average, every third person who attends the final interview will be successful. That makes the pass rate, in our opinion, 30%. Of course, on any given day that pass rate can change and it is all very much dependent on how you answer the questions.
An important part of your “what are your weaknesses” answer is showing self-improvement. You should include details about the steps you’re taking to learn a skill or correct a weakness. I have two greatest weaknesses. The first is my inability to share responsibilities.
How do I pass the police interview?
- Do your homework. You need to learn as much as you can about the position you are applying for and its place within the department.
- Prepare for the day of the interview.
- Respecting the panel of interviewers.
- Answer the questions.
- Avoid being overly negative.
- Avoid giving them reasons to pass on you.
