Management Development Institute Job Vacancies

The Management Development Institute (MDI) for health care organizations is a one-week in-person training plus year-long practical project that enhances the leadership and management skills of program managers and leaders of sub-Saharan African organizations, both governmental and non-governmental, that are devoted to delivering health care services to underserved populations. The program is designed specifically to assist African ministries of health in implementing their particular national health priorities.

Over 1,128 participants from 37 African countries have graduated from the program. The program’s focus has expanded in recent years to health systems more generally, and invites participation of those involved in implementing national health priorities in the areas of communicable diseases and chronic diseases.

The original MDI program was designed by world-class management faculty from the UCLA Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and by leaders of Amref Health Africa.

Currently, the program is a partnership between, Johnson & Johnson, GBSN, Amref Health Africa, the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, the institut Supérieur de Management (ISM) and the Nova School of Business and Economics. GBSN acts as the program administrator for the MDI, and the program is funded by Johnson & Johnson, one of the most admired companies in the world today.
