Pentecostal Life University | School of Management Admission
1. Admission Requirements
(a)   Bachelor’s Degree Program: (4 Years)
Applicants must have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with a minimum of six (6) credit passes including English obtained in not more than two consecutive sittings.
(b) Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program
A recognized Postgraduate Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field of study earned from a recognized institution. This program is designed to assist those who need their first degrees which is key to their future career and further education
(c) Masters Degree Programs
The following are requirements for admission to the Masters Degree Program:

  • At least three years of work experience in the public and private sectors, voluntary/community-based organizations, and international and non-governmental organizations;
  • A recognized University Degree in a relevant field or any related field from a well recognized institution and evidenced by transcripts and copies certificates, etc.
  • A brief curriculum vitae that provides an overview of education, work and other professional activities;
  • Sufficient references (at least three) from persons in the professional and academic communities;
  • No age limit; and
  • Female applicants will be strongly encouraged to apply so that over time gender balance of 50 percent is achieved.
  • Short-listing of students for the program will be done by Faculty Admission Committee. Upon receipt of all applications, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce in consultation with the Department of Postgraduate Studies will evaluate the applicants to ensure that they meet entry requirements of the Pentecostal Life University for a particular program. Names of selected applicants will be submitted to the Senate Board for approval.

(d) Ph.D. Programs

2. Pentecostal Life University | School of Management Duration of Programs and Credits Transfer Policy
The relevant courses at Bachelor’s level with passing grades completed at other institutions will be accepted as transfer credits. PLU awards credits for courses completed elsewhere according to the policies and guidelines on transfer credits for undergraduate students. Please refer to the guide lines for details. On duration of programs all candidates with Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent will take four (4) years to complete the Bachelor’s Degree Program. Those with Advanced Diploma will take two (2) years to complete the Bachelor’s Degree Program. For Masters Candidates will take minimum of eighteen (18) months while Ph.D. Candidates will take a minimum of three (3) years to complete the program.
3. Mode of Delivery
The undergraduate courses at PLU are offered at full time, evenings and weekends. Full Time Courses are offered Monday to Friday during the day. Evening classes are being offered Monday to Wednesday from 5:30pm – 9:30pm. Lastly, weekend classes are offered on Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 am – 05:00pm and 1:00pm – 05:00pm respectively.
4. Structure
At PLU all Degree Programs are divided into three parts: coursework, final examinations and research project/dissertations/thesis. Each student is required to submit a fully fledged research proposal before the dissertation or thesis. All parts must be passed for the award of a  Degree at Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D.
5. Methods of Assessment
For undergraduate programs it is 40% course work 60% examinations while postgraduate programs it is 50% Course Work and 50% Examinations
