Admission and application
International students and Dutch students with non-Dutch qualifications are not automatically admitted to a bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Groningen.
The full registration procedure will take longer than for Dutch students with regular Dutch qualifications and consists of three steps: application, admission and registration.

Application documents
When submitting your application in the Online Application System (OAS), you will have to upload digital copies of the required documents in PDF format.
Please check which documents are required for admission to the programme of your choice in the overview of required documents per faculty.
If you are not sure what the documents should include, please find explanations as to what information the documents should contain and which requirements they must fulfil.
Please note that each individual application can be evaluated only once. It is therefore important to make sure that the documents you provide meet the requirements of the University of Groningen application procedure. You can provide these documents only once. Providing incomplete or incorrect documents can therefore have consequences for your application for admission. In case of doubt regarding the requirements applicable to your application documents, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Pre-master programmes
In certain situations applicants who want to follow a master programme must first complete a pre-master programme. For example Dutch HBO graduates cannot automatically register for a master programme.
Some Faculties offer standard pre-master programmes that result in admission to a certain master degree programme or a certificate of completion that grants admission to a range of master degree programmes.
The most common transfers have standard bridging programmes. A combination that is less usual does not necessarily mean that there is no pre-master programme, just that one will have to be tailored to your situation.
Please contact the study advisor of your chosen master degree to discuss your options.
