Zesa Prices in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority, whose official name is ZESA Holdings Limited, is a state-owned company whose task is to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity in Zimbabwe.

These are Zesa’s new electricity charges, effective 1 March 2023

You live in a hyperinflationary economy, so you should be used to this. Electricity tariffs have gone up and this is how much it’s going to cost you to keep the lights on. Of course, we are talking about the 4 hours or so in the day that you’ll actually get the electricity.

Zimbabwe, September 2022: The price of electricity is 0.015 U.S. Dollars per kWh for households and 0.000 U.S. Dollars for businesses which include all components of the electricity bill such as the cost of power, distribution and taxes.

How much is kWh of electricity in Zimbabwe?

Domestic consumers on prepaid meters will now pay 1.67 Zimbabwe dollars (ZWL) per kWh for the first 50 kWh, going up to 3.65 ZWL per kWh for the next 150 kWh and then 9.92 ZWL per kWh for the next 100kWh. Anything beyond 300 kWh will be charged a tariff of 15.57 per kWh.
