President Peter Mutharika has fired General Maulana from the Malawi Defence Force and replaced him with Lieutenant Geneal SupuniPresident as the new military chief, Nyasa Times learnt on Saturday. Chief secretary to government, George Nkondiwa confirmed the major shake up at the military. Former army spokesman Clement Namangale has been elevated to the spirit of deputy army commander.
