Businessman murdered in Nkhotakota by unknown thugs: Police launches manhunt

Police in Nkhotakota have launched a manhunt for unknown thugs who have murdered a 49 year old businessperson Isaac Banda.
Banda was murdered at his home in Nkhotakota on Saturday, July 30 2016.
Spokesperson for Nkhotakota Police Williams Kaponda confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the armed thugs accused the deceased who was also working as an accountant at the District Education Manager’s office in Salima of being in love with one of the thugs.
He said the thugs invade the house of Banda on Saturday and found his two Children preparing meal while he was away.
Kaponda said the thugs introduced themselves as soldiers from Salima.
According to Kaponda, when Banda arrived the thugs forced the deceased’s son and his friend into a bedroom and tied them with a rope after threatening the two with a small gun.
“The thugs then dragged Banda into his bedroom where he was making unusual noise,” said Kaponda.
The armed thugs escaped from the scene after one of the deceased’s son shouted for help.
“People around his house responded positively to the shout but it was too late for Banda who was found lying dead on the bed with both hands tied and face covered with a green bathing towel whilst the neck was tied with wire,” said Kaponda.
Banda hailed from Munyoka village in Traditional Authority Kabunduli in Nkhata-Bay.
