Three people killed in road accident in Mwanza

Three people are reported dead while two others including a Police officer are battling for their lives at Mwanza District Hospital after being hit by a fertilizer truck at Nkulumadzi Roadblock in the district.
 
Mwanza Police Spokesperson Edwin Kaunda confirmed of the accident in an interview with the press, saying the accident happened on Wednesday night.
According to Kaunda, the accident happened after the driver of the fertilizer truck from Mozambique failed to stop the vehicle at the roadblock for inspection.
Kaunda said the vehicle hit to death three people before hitting two stationed vehicles at the road.
He said the vehicle also hit a Police officer who was doing inspection at the roadblock.
Meanwhile the injured Police officer and one of the passengers in the stationed vehicles are receiving treatment at Mwanza District Hospital.
