Four suspects nabbed over stolen washing machine at Queens

Police in Blantyre have arrested four people in connection with the theft of a washing machine from Queens Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH).
The four are Francis Gwiranani, 52, Philip Malitino, 45, Yohane Kankhuni, 46, and Gerrard Maonde and they work with the hospital.
Blantyre Police assistant spokesperson Andrew Mayawo confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press.
According to Mayawo, Gwiranani who works as senior maintenance supervisor cheated the Laundry Master at the hospital that he noted a fault in one of the machines.
He said the suspect then hired car to carry the machine to unknown destination for repairing and it was not returned.
The four are currently being remanded at Chichiri Prison after being formally charged of theft by public servant.
