Botho University Celebrates Class Of 2017 Graduation In Style

Today, Botho University celebrated a milestone achievement by the Class of 2017. This occasion was further edified by the University’s 20th year anniversary celebration. The ceremony was graced by the Assistant Minister of Tertiary Education Research Science and Technology; Mr.Fidelis Molao, amongst the thousands of parents who gathered to wish the students well on this important day.
In welcoming the guests, Mr. Ananth Ram expressed that graduations are a time of joy and celebration, of new beginnings as well as moments of critical choices. He welcomed the friends and families who came to celebrate the hard work and success of their graduates and went on further to proudly assure the employers, invited guests and representatives of different organizations in the ceremony that the graduates are educated around the fundamental Botho Graduate Profile; to be Knowledgeable, Hardworking, Entrepreneurial, Scholarly and Socially Responsible graduates.He urged the employers to open their doors to these graduates and provide them an opportunity to display their knowledge skills and competencies and to learn more of the industry expectations.
In addressing the students Mr. Ananth said, “the world before you is full of choices and I pray that with the support of family, friends and your university you will make the choices that will enable you to achieve professional, financial and emotional success.
Speaking in his keynote address Assistant Minister of EducationMr. Fidelis Molao said “the graduation is made more special by the fact that Botho University is celebrating 20 Years of existence”. He further elaborated by congratulating the University for the outstanding 20 years of an exceptional story of transformation from a single discipline institution to becoming a multi-disciplinary university, which today enrolls around 5000 students across their Campuses in Gaborone, Francistown, Maun and Maseru.
The Assistant Minister went on to commend the University for demonstrating a clear commitment to providing quality education. This ismade evidentby their extensive investment in Infrastructure,systems,staff development and other quality initiatives that the university engages in to ensure National and International academic standards. This is all in the effort to produce well-rounded, employable graduates for the global market.
The Assistant Minister congratulated the graduates and urged them that “With this rich experience from Botho University, as graduates you should assist to move Botswana from being a consumer economy to a producing economy”. He went further to say, “Let me congratulate you on the wonderful achievements and wish you all a brighter future as you serve your communities with diligence, commitment and humility”, said Mr. Molao.
