The Malawi Institute of Tourism is a Training Institution recognized for providing training in the Tourism and Hospitality industry. It runs three year Diploma programmes, Certificate Programmes, Short and Tailor-made courses for the Industry. The institute is inviting applicationsfor non-residential courses for the January, 2018 intake in the following programmes:-
1. DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT
Duration: 3 Years
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 3 terms including 3 months Industrial learning in the Hospitality Industry
Fees: MK480, 000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements: MSCE with 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements:2 sets of standard MIT uniform and professional chefs’ uniform
Commencing Date: 29th January, 2018
2. DIPLOMA IN PROFESSIONAL COOKERY
Duration: 2 Years
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 2 terms including 3 months Industrial learning in the Hospitality Industry
Fees: MK 480,000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements: MSCE with 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements: 2 sets of standard MIT uniform and professional chefs’ uniform
Commencing Date: 29th January, 2018
3. DIPLOMA IN TRAVEL & TOURISM MANAGEMENT
Duration: 3 Years
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 3 terms including 3 months Industrial learning in the Tourism Industry
Fees: MK 480,000.00per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements: MSCE with 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements: 2 sets of standard MIT uniform
Commencing Date: 29th January, 2018
4. IATA / UFTAA FOUNDATIONDIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL & TOURISM LEVEL 1
Duration: 9 Months
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 2 terms
Fees: MK 150, 000.00payable on registration to MIT
Registration/ Exam Fess: Students are required to pay registration and Exam Fees to the Examining body IATA/UFTAA by 31st May, 2018 for September, 2018 Examinations.
Entry Requirements: MSCE with 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements: 2 sets of standard MIT uniform

5. IATA / UFTAA CONSULTANT DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL & TOURISM LEVEL II
Duration: 9 Months
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 2 terms
Fees: MK 150,000.00payable on registration to MIT
Registration/ Exam Fess: Students are required to pay registration and Exam Fees to the Examining body IATA/UFTAA by 31st May, 2017 for September, 2017 Examinations.
Entry Requirements: IATA Foundation Diploma Level 1; MSCE with at least 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements: 2 sets of standard MIT uniform

6. ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY & TOURISM MANAGEMENT (Upgrading) Weekend Classes
Duration: 1 Year
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 3 Semesters
Fees: MK 480,000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements: MSCE and a certificate in any Hospitality course and a minimumof two years working in the Hospitality industry at supervisory level
Commencing Date: 29th January, 2018
7. DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT (Upgrading) Weekend Classes
Duration: 2 Years
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 3 terms
Fees: MK 480,000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements: MSCE and a certificate in any Hospitality course and a minimum
of two years working in the Hospitality industry
Other Requirements: A set of professional chefs’ uniform
Commencing Date: 29th January, 2018
8. DIPLOMA IN TRAVEL & TOURISM MANAGEMENT (upgrading) Weekend classes
Duration: 2 Years
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 3 terms
Fees: MK 480,000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements: MSCE and a certificate in any travel and tourism course plus a Minimum of two years work experience in the Tourism industry
Commencing Date: 29th January, 2018
9. CERTIFICATE IN HOTEL OPERATIONS
Duration: 1 Year 6 Months
Location: Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT)
Course Structure: 2 terms including 3 months Industrial learning in the Hospitality Industry
Fees: MK 480,000.00 full course payable on registration
Entry Requirements: MSCE with 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements: 2 sets of standard MIT uniform and professional chefs’ uniform
Commencing Date: 29th January, 2018

Completed application forms attached with photocopies of certificates should be dropped at Mzuzu Lodge in Mzuzu, Lingadzi Inn in Lilongwe and Malawi Institute of Tourism in Blantyre.
Closing Date of receiving Applications is Sunday 26th November, 2017. Interviews will be conducted in Blantyre- Malawi Institute of Tourism (Alendo Hotel) on 27th and 28th November 2017; Lilongwe- Lingadzi Inn on 29th and 30th November 2017 and Mzuzu- Mzuzu Lodge on 1st December 2017.
