MAGU Annual Fundraising Dinner and Dance 2018
The MAGU Annual Fundraising dinner and dance graced by the presence of our chancellor Rev. Dr. Edward Chitsonga together with the Keynote Speaker Dr. Matthews Mtumbuka was a great success. The support from various sectors was overwhelming, bearing in Mind that this was the first of its kind with such a reach. All the funds that were collected have gone to the MAGU Scholarship fund to meet the challenges of needy students.
The Keynote Speaker Dr. Mtumbuka in his address, talked mostly about the Innovative thinking among other things. Dr Mathews Mtumbuka used Richard Brandson, the founder of Virgin Airlines as an example of an innovative thinker.
The address encouraged the guessts to focus on the following pointers on innovative thingking;
1.Making savings
2.Investing and building partnerships
3.Innovative thinking
Dr Mtumbuka also took an example from the Facebook founder , Mark Zuckerberg who with some of his student colleagues started the Social media site catering to just Harvard students and has reached a reach of 2.2 Billion Active Users.
With such an example Dr. Mtumbuka encouraged students to;
- never look down on themselves as too Young to be Innovative
- note that business dont Grow Instantly, but gradually and over time
- never go into business alone as much as possible.
