Mukuba University Scholarship 2019

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

The scholarships currently on offer are:

1) THE AGATHA NTUMBIZODWA KABWE NKWANZI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (Ten (10 awards)

The scholarship is sponsored by Power Tools Bus Services in the enduring and loving memory of the late Agatha Ntumbizodwa Kabwe Nkwazi. The scholarship targets academically capable but financially challenged students of Mukuba University. The scholarship will be contributory, meaning that Power tools will contribute Eighty percent (80%) of fees payable to the University, while the recipients will contribute Twenty percent (20%) of the fees payable.

ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION PROCEEDURE

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must:

i. Be in possession of an admission/acceptance letter from Mukuba University.

ii. Demonstrate academic ability. First year applicants must have an average score of ‘credit’ or ‘Grade 6’ or better in their Grade 12 results; while returning students of Mukuba University wishing to apply must have an average score of ‘B’ in order for them to be considered.

iii. Demonstrate that they need financial assistance [Refer to Part B “iv” of the application form]

iv. Be a Zambian citizen

v. Have no criminal record or general record of bad behavior. Returning students of Mukuba University wishing to apply for the scholarship should have a clean disciplinary record.

vi. Not have been awarded and accepted a scholarship, bursary or educational loan from Ministry of Higher Education or any other institution during the same period they intend to undertake their studies at Mukuba University

vii. Have no outstanding balance with the University (for returning students)

2) THE R. J. MTONGA ENTERPRISES SCHOLARSHIP (Two (2) awards)

This scholarship is sponsored by R. J. Mtonga Enterprises, in the enduring and loving memory of the late Mr. Richard Johnstone Mtonga. The scholarship targets academically capable but financially challenged students of Mukuba University. The scholarship will be contributory, meaning that R. J. Mtonga enterprises will contribute Eighty percent (80%) of fees payable to the University, while the recipients will contribute Twenty percent (20%) of the fees payable.

ELIGIBILITY

To be considered for R. J. Mtonga scholarship, applicants must meet the eligibility criterial outlined for the Agatha Ntumbizodwa Kabwe Nkwazi memorial Scholarship.

3) THE INVESTRUST BANK SCHOLARSHIP (ONE [1] award)

This scholarship is sponsored by Investrust Bank. The scholarship targets academically capable but financially challenged students of Mukuba University. The scholarship will be contributory, meaning that Investrust Bank will contribute Eighty percent (80%) of fees payable to the University, while the recipients will contribute Twenty percent (20%) of the fees payable.

ELIGIBILITY

To be considered for Investrust scholarship, applicants must meet the eligibility criterial outlined for the Agatha Ntumbizodwa Kabwe Nkwazi memorial Scholarship.

4) THE BARRICK LUMWANA MINING COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME (ten [10] awards)

Barrick Lumwana Mining Company sponsors this scholarship, which aims at bridging the skills and education gap that exists among youths in the North Western Province of Zambia. The scholarship also aims at providing an opportunity and empowering economically disadvantaged youths in the North Western Province to attain University education.

The scholarship will cover ALL tuition, accommodation and other fees payable for a degree program at Mukuba University.

ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE

To be considered for the Barrick Lumwana Mining Company Scholarship Scheme, applicants must:

i. Be Zambian citizens resident in the North Western Province

ii. Not be more than 35 years of age

iii. Be in possession of Grade 12 certificate. Applicants must meet Mukuba University and Barrick Lumwana�s competitive criteria which will take into account the selection points secured by all applicants.

iv. Be in possession of an admission letter from Mukuba University for full time study

v. Have no criminal record or general record of bad behaviour. Returning students of Mukuba University applying for this scholarship should have a clean disciplinary record

vi. Not have been awarded and accepted a scholarship, loan or bursary from the Zambian Government or any other institution during the same period that the applicant intends to undertake their studies at Mukuba University

Applicants shall apply following an annual announcement made in the three chiefdoms of Mukumbi, Matebo and Mumena. The announcement will also be made at selected Solwezi Radio stations and other media.

Final awards will be strictly on a merit basis, following scrutiny and recommendation by Mukuba University.5) HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP AND LOANS BOARD

Mukuba University is also pleased to announce that beginning with the 2019/2020 academic year, first year students of mukuba University will be considered for the GRZ Higher Education Loans and scholarships.

The eligibility criteria and other relevant information will be provided to students by the Higher Education Loans and scholarships Board at an appropriate time.ADMISSION TOMUKUBA UNIVERSITY FOR THE 2019/2020 ACADEMIC YEAR

Individuals wishing to be considered for the available scholarships and under the Higher Education Loans and Scholarship board but have not yet applied for admission to the University are encouraged to first apply for admission in any of the following programs:

(1) Bachelor of Education (Chemistry) 
(2) Bachelor of Education (Biology) 
(3) Bachelor of Education (Physics) 
(4) Bachelor of Education (Agriculture Science) 
(5) Bachelor of Education (Geography) 
(6) Bachelor of Education (Textile Science)

(7) Bachelor of Education (Nutritional Science) 
(8) Bachelor of Education (Mathematics) 
(9) Bachelor of Education (Computer Science) 
(10) Diploma in Teaching Methods 

Entry Qualifications

1. Five (5) credits or better in 5 subjects including Mathematics, English and Science related subject.

2. Applicants for Bachelor of Education (textile and Nutritional Sciences) should also have passed in any of the following subjects: Food and Nutrition, Home Management, and Fashion and Fabrics

3. Applicants for Teaching Methods should have obtained a minimum of a degree
