Senior Methods Engineer Supervision Of Maintenance Department Interacts With Maintenance Department JOB DESCRIPTION Ensure completion of mechanical maintenance jobs with the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability Embrace preventive and predictive maintenance practices, and contribute to their improvement Optimise maintenance operations, using best available tools and procedures in order to maximise equipment availability Ensure proper day-to-day scheduling of works and necessary resources. Assign and review work to perform by Junior Engineers and Craftsmen Responsible for the execution and the quality of maintenance work to be carried out on mechanical equipment, respecting budget, policies and deadlines Contribute in his/her field, to the development of working methods and definition of procedures and ensure their implementation Ensure completion of major operations within schedule (yearly overhaul) Ensure, upon completion of repairs, that equipment is in good operating condition, ready to meet operational requirements, fully inspected, tested, clean and safe Provide reporting on repair jobs including consumption of materials, specific tools, and man- hours and skills Participate in investment planning, budgeting and shutdown preparation Manage his/her team, define objectives and carry out their performance reviews Promote the quality of the work, motivate his/her personnel, and facilitate communication Ensure on-going skills enhancement of their teams employees, helping the development and implementation of training plans Keep themselves informed of general plant practices so as to ensure on-call duty Ensure safety of all personnel by adherence to Safety, Health and Environmental standards CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION Experience 2 years Education Level Degree Qualifications University Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Experience in SHE Systems e.g. ISO 14001 Software Ms Word / Ms Excel / Ms PowerPoint Equipment Laptop / As required for role Knowledge Of Heavy manufacturing or mining Skills To Lead major projects Ability To Mobilize people and lead them towards a common goal Personality Initiative / Results Driven Other Good aptitude for organisation and communication ORGANISATION Industry Heavy Manufacturing Culture International Corporate Gender Profile Mixed Age Profile Between 28 and 45 years of age TERMS AND CONDITIONS Employment Permanent Location Harare, Zimbabwe Remuneration Negotiable
