University Of Professional Studies 12th Congregation Ceremony for 2020-Notice to Final Year Students

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) announces for the information of the general public that the 12th Congregation Ceremony blended (virtual and in-person) graduation of the University to award degrees and diploma certificates to persons who successfully completed their programmes of study in the 2019/2020 academic year will be held as follows:

Date: Friday, August 28, 2020

Time: 9.30 a.m.

Venue: UPSA New Auditorium / Zoom Virtual Space

Participants:

The first-ever blended (virtual and in-person) graduation ceremony will be held for all final year postgraduate and undergraduate students who have successfully completed their academic programmes of study during the 2019/2020 academic year. This arrangement for the 12th Congregation Ceremony has become necessary in order to comply with COVID-19 safety protocols.

While the graduands who attained First Class will join the Chairman of Council and selected members of Management and Convocation present in the New Auditorium, all other graduands and well-wishers will participate in the ceremony via Zoom and live video streaming. The link to Zoom and live video streaming of the ceremony will be sent through the email addresses of registered graduands.

Registration for the Congregation:

Graduands who have successfully completed their programmes during the 2019/2020 academic year and wish to be presented during the August, 2020 Congregation are required to be cleared of any financial obligations to the University prior to registration for the Congregation.

A non-refundable fee of GH¢300.00 is required to be paid at any branch of Access Bank Ltd. After payment of the fee, graduands must log onto https://www.interpayafrica.com/upsa/student to disburse the payment. Payments must be received on or before close of business on Wednesday, 26th August, 2020.

After having paid and disbursed the graduation fee, graduands who wish to participate in the Congregation should log onto their USIS student portal and click on the “Register for Graduation” tab to register for the graduation ceremony. Graduands must register by Wednesday, 26th August, 2020.

Note: Only graduands who have paid their graduation fee and have been cleared of their financial obligations will be issued with their graduation gowns, souvenirs, a free copy of their transcript, and have their certificates released to them.

List of Graduands:

The list of graduands will be available on the University’s website (www.upsa.edu.gh). The online Congregation Brochure containing the list of the graduands will also be made available on the website.

Collection of Academic Gowns:

Use your proof of registration and the interpay disbursement printout to collect the gown. Collection of gowns will begin from Monday, 17th August, 2020 and end at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 26th August, 2020.

Gallery of Pictures:

The University will develop a Gallery of Pictures of registered 2020 Graduates. All graduands who would like to be included in the Gallery should take a picture in their academic gown or UPSA formal professional wear and send it through https://join.upsavirtual.site/course/view.php?id=444 for inclusion in the graduation picture gallery. The photograph specifications are as follows: studio quality portrait photograph, clear background, not larger than 2MB to be uploaded. The gallery will be live by Monday, August 31, 2020.

Return of Academic Gowns:

Graduands are requested to return the academic gowns by 5 p.m. on Monday, 31st August, 2020. Failure to do so will attract a penalty of GH¢50.00 per day.

Attire:

The First Class graduands who will be attending the ceremony in person are expected to be seated at the Auditorium by 9.00 a.m. in the appropriate academic gown worn over suit/jacket, formal professional wear with UPSA neck tie or scarf in the case of ladies. Graduands participating in the ceremony virtually are encouraged to be in their academic gowns for the duration of the programme.
