MPhil and PhD Courses
We aim to produce research leaders, working with integrity and motivated to make a positive impact on society. We prepare our research candidates to be able to work across disciplines which is a necessary skill to confront society’s grand challenges in both academic and non-academic roles.The Doctoral School organises specialist courses and transferable skills seminars for PhD students. Research conducted by research candidates span across engineering, renewable energy, sustainable development, Information and Communication Technology and Management.
General admission criteria and fees
1. MPhil
Entry requirements
We require applicants to hold a least a Second class Honours degree (or overseas equivalent) in a related subject area for entry.
2. MPhil/PhD
Entry requirements
We require applicants to hold a least a Second class Honours degree (or overseas equivalent) in a related subject area for entry.
3. PhD
Entry requirements
We require applicants to hold an MPhil or a Master’s degree (or overseas equivalent) in a related subject area for entry.

Rs 60 000 yearly
International students:
(Non-SADC countries): Rs 107 000
(SADC countries): Rs 60 000
