CHE is a statutory corporate body established by Section 4 of the Higher Education Act of 2004. The overall mandate of CHE is quality promotion, quality assurance and to advise the Minister of Education and Training. CHE consists of the Chairperson, eight (8) members appointed by the Minister of Education and Training, two Principal Secretaries and Chief Executive as an ex officio member and Secretary.
It was officially opened by the Honourable Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Mokoto Hloaele. Higher education institutions put up stalls for the two days to provide information to participants about their programme offerings and admission requirements.
Students who have recently completed LGCSE and those still in school doing final year (Form 5) came in large numbers on both days. Highly qualified professionals from different fields presented in career guidance sessions to help students make up their minds about professions they wish to pursue. CHE partnered with the Queen ‘Mamohato Memorial Hospital (QMMH) in presenting information on careers relating to the health sector including medicine, audiology, dentistry, radiology, physio therapy etc.
National Manpower Development Secretariat (NMDS) together with other student financing organisations provided valuable information on how funding could be accessed. The Fair was indeed a great success.
